Bangalore, sometimes called Bengaluru, is the capital and biggest city in the southern Indian state of Karnataka. With more than 8 million residents and a metropolitan area of almost 15 million, it is the third most populous Indian city and the fourth most populous urban agglomeration. With a population that ranks 27th globally, it is the most populous city in South India and the largest urban agglomeration [citation needed].

Because Bangalore is situated on the Deccan Plateau, roughly 900 meters (3,000 feet) above sea level, it experiences pleasant temperatures throughout the year. Bangalore’s numerous parks and green spaces have earned it the moniker “Garden City” in India. It is the tallest among India’s major cities.

One of the major metropolises in the world with the fastest pace of growth is Bangalore. Recent estimates of Bangalore’s metropolitan area’s metro economy place it among the most productive metro areas in India. The city, which is recognized as the center of the high-tech heavy manufacturing industry, is home to the headquarters of numerous significant international technology companies.

It is home to several famous engineering and research institutes. Bangalore is known as the “Silicon Valley of India” because it is the nation’s leading software exporter and a major semiconductor hub. Numerous state-owned aerospace and defense businesses are based in the city. Bangalore boasts numerous prominent stadiums, making it one of the country’s sports hubs.

Bangalore is served by Kempegowda International Airport, which is located in Devanahalli and around 40 kilometers from the city core. Formerly called Bangalore International Airport, the airport opened for operations on May 24, 2008, and is privately operated by the GVK Group. Previously, the city was served by the HAL Airport, which is situated in the residential area of Vimanapura in the east. After Delhi and Mumbai, the airport is the third busiest in India in terms of both passenger and aircraft traffic. The air-conditioned Volvo buses and taxis operated by BMTC connect the city and the airport.
